Welcome to F.A.C.S at Herrick Middle School

Welcome to FACS: Family & Consumer Sciences! This is a class designed to provide students with core knowledge and skills needed to manage their lives whether it be from one of the topics in the image above. Project based instruction will provide students with opportunities to utilize higher order thinking, communication, and leadership skills.

7th Grade FACS

During the 10 1/2 week class, we cover the following: 
  • Interior Design
  • Clothing Construction (sewing a pillow)
  • Culinary Arts & Nutrition

8th Grade FACS

During our quarter long class, we cover the following:
  • Consumer Education
  • Child Development
  • Clothing Repair (sewing on a button)
  • Culinary Arts
